SUMMER RECAPE

Hey everyone,

An update on my summer and what is happening here in Montebelluna, Italy. COVID has been a plan destroyer, but the Lord has been so good to me. Even if I didn't get to do everything that I had planned for this summer the LORD still expanded his kingdom.

JUNE: First part of the month we where finishing up our spring semester. It was a weird semester with COVID obviously. However thankfully we where released from quarantine the first part of May and were able to travel for the last couple of weeks with the students so they could at least see some of the beautiful places in which we live. The rest of the month we basically spent most of the month in construction mode. The main project that I have helped on this summer is electrical work. We have hired a local Italian electrician for a lot of the work that has needed to be done in the building as we are transitioning the facility from a factory to a church. It has been very fun to work with the electrician (Aldo). It has been a great learning experience for me because he is a respected professional in his field. Also the Lord has given me great opportunities to minister to him and grow a friendship.

JULY: Spent a week in July helping out at our annual youth camp. I had the privilege of leading and teaching the middle school group again this year. The theme of the camp was “Follow Me.” I choose John 13-17 as the text that we would cover throughout the week. It was an awesome time being able to teach the kids focusing especially on what it means to be disciples of Jesus. The following weekend I took some of our youth to Austria to our Calvary Chapel Conference center in Millstat, Austria. Calvary owns a castle that has a summer of service program in which youth from around Europe can come and serve for a couple of months. I closed out the month working again with Aldo at the church building. We also met as a college group continuing our studies through the book of Proverbs.

AUGUST: As many of you have experienced COVID has a way of canceling plans. One of the opportunities that I was most excited about for the summer was the possibility that we as a church had to serve at a Pastor’s & Leaders conference that was suppose to be at the Calvary Chapel Conference center in Hungary. We had a group of around 25 people expected to go from our church to serve and facilitate the conference. However due to a rising number of COVID cases the conference was canceled. (Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be broken). One of the blessings is that I was able to go on vacation to southern Italy. For a week I went with the Quam’s to the region of Puglia. We went to the southern most point on the heal of the boot. The week was wonderful and I got to experience a new culture of sea food and craziness that is southern Italy. We closed the month by having a special prayer meeting for the college and youth age kids at our house. We made them good Mexican food and just spent some dedicated time praying for each other and worshiping the Lord.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Pray for Aldo and his salvation

  2. Pray for our Bible College. It has been hit hard with all the COVID travel restrictions. Attendance has been substantially down this last year.

  3. Pray for the college & youth ministries here at the church.

  4. Pray for Abigail’s and I future and wisdom with timing.

  5. Pray for the gospels general effect and spread on the community of Montebelluna and Italy as a whole.

  6. Pray for financial support for me.

Thank you for taking the time to read, pray, and give. I truly appreciate your love and friendship. May the Lord bless you!
